The Great American Eclipse

The book of Genesis contains an important key for anyone who desires to fully appreciate the significance of signs that appear in the sky—whether by day or by night.
The Bible reveals that God had a purpose in creating the sun, the moon and the stars beyond giving astronomers something to study. In fact, God actually intended for them to serve as signs.
That’s right. Signs.
Consider the following verse from the book of Genesis:
“And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years…” (Genesis 1:14 NIV)
Upon this premise, it naturally follows that we should consider what the coming eclipse could mean.
It’s been called the “August Eclipse”—even the “Great American Eclipse”—and it starts next month.
Understandably, there are questions.
As a growing number of people are becoming aware of the coming solar eclipse which will span across America, there are questions.
Is this solar eclipse cause for celebration?
Or is it cause for pause?
Could there actually be a Divine Message in this?
While many in the United States of America will be talking about this particular eclipse from the standpoint of its unusually long duration, others will be talking about what it could mean.
Yes, as the Great American Eclipse of 2017 completes its course, something that many believe to be of great significance will happen the next day.
You see, on September 23, 2017, the sun, moon, stars and several planets will come into a precise alignment that bears a remarkable resemblance to A Great Sign that is described in another book in the Bible—the book of Revelation.
“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.” (Revelation 12:1 NIV)
For thousands of years, many people who read those words considered it to be purely figurative language.
However, we now realize that there are some very literal correlations between what is described in that verse of Scripture and what will actually appear on September 23, 2017.
