The Revelation 12 Sign
September 23, 2017, the date associated with the great sign of Revelation 12, has come and gone. But while the date of the sign has passed, the significance of the sign remains more relevant than ever.
However, in order to fully appreciate the ongoing significance of this great sign, it is necessary to remember the purpose of a sign. A sign does not mean that something has to happen at that very moment. A sign is usually posted to indicate that something is coming.
Take driving, for example. When you are driving down the highway, you will see 1-mile signs, 1/2-mile signs, next exit signs, and exit now signs. Even the “Exit Now” signs are posted prior to their off ramps.
So, once again, a sign does not always mean that something has to happen right now. A sign generally means that something is coming. Such is apparently the case with the Revelation 12 Sign. It is not merely a snapshot. It is a motion picture, and, with respect to Bible prophecy and the signs of the times, the significance of this great sign is still speaking volumes.
Temples and Time Frames
Temples and Time Frames explores how the book of Daniel foretold that the Messiah of Israel would appear during a fixed time frame. That time frame would be while the Second Temple was still standing and before it was destroyed.
It was destroyed in 70 A.D. by the Romans. Keep that year in mind, because it is an important parameter as far as the prophecy is concerned.
According to the Scriptures, this means that the Messiah had to appear prior to 70 A.D. And yet the prophecy gets even more specific with respect to the timing of the Messiah’s appearance.
So let’s open up the Book of Daniel, and turn to chapter nine. We are going to read verses 25 and 26.
