Earth’s Magnetic North Pole Shift Toward Russia

The expression that God will “move heaven and earth” to fulfil His purposes can be taken literally. Consider recent reports regarding the Earth’s magnetic North Pole shift toward Russia. While many are looking at this phenomenon from a purely scientific and empirical standpoint, we shall consider how this could be playing a role in the fulfilment of Bible prophecy.

“You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land.”
Ezekiel 38:15–16

In the Far North

In the book of Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39, we read about an against-all-odds assault on the nation of Israel, and we find the Lord calling out the mysterious Gog, who is the leader of Magog. Both history and geography contain significant clues that essentially pinpoint the land of Magog. Yet there is that phrase in the prophecy—”from the far north”—that many pondered as to whether it was to be taken literally or figuratively.

These words were prophesied in the Bible long ago, and yet we are living at a time in which this prophecy could soon be fulfilled. But let’s take a moment to consider a recent development that would seem to confirm some things from a geographical standpoint that appear to be coming into alignment. The topic of Earth’s magnetic North Pole Shift toward Russia makes for some interesting discussion.

Well, as if to bring the prophecy into sharper focus, the far north has actually been moving, and it is moving toward Russia. U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has reported that Earth’s magnetic North Pole is moving, and others are reporting on the direction in which it is moving.

Is There a Prophetic Significance?

Once again, we are considering the prophetic significance that this recent development may carry.

That which defines (or at least locates) what we know to be North is based upon magnetic fields and the magnetic North Pole is moving. As it moves toward Russia, it would certainly seem to pinpoint Russia as being “in the far north.”

“You will come from your place in the far north…

Now, granted, it may only be in increments of degrees over years, but it is still an interesting observation, isn’t it? And yet for those who would say that this is purely coincidental, not so fast. It is often in the smallest of details that prophecy is recognized as being fulfilled.

Could it be that Earth’s magnetic North Pole shift toward Russia has prophetic significance?
